Explore the essence of the island with short walks that reveal the secrets of its territory, reminding you that Gran Canaria is much more than its sunny coasts.
The Volcano Heart Tour concludes, the vibrant tones of sunset from Pico de Las Nieves provide the perfect backdrop to view the Teide mountain on the neighbouring island of Tenerife. Returning with stories yet to be told, you’ll realize that Gran Canaria is not just a destination, it’s a miniature continent.
Itinerary Heart of the Volcano Tour in Gran Canaria with Hotel Pick-Up
TEJEDA / CALDERA DE BANDAMA
We will start the adventure at 14:00. At our first stop, immerse yourself in the geological wonders of the island by visiting this impressive crater, a testament to the volcanic legacy of Gran Canaria.
CRUZ DE TEJEDA
Head to the geographical centre of the island, where ancient royal paths intertwine with modern hiking trails. The panoramic views offer a fascinating glimpse into the interior and the western side of the island. Don’t miss the local market stalls featuring typical Tejeda products.
TASTING OF LOCAL PRODUCTS
Enjoy a tasty sampling of local products, including a glass of wine, at the Los Llanos de La Pez Recreational Area. If the weather does not cooperate, the tasting will take place at El Restaurante Tajinaste, where we can savor the delicious dishes sheltered by the Rural Hotel El Refugio.
ROQUE NUBLO
Dive deeper into the heart of Gran Canaria with a walk through the Nublo Rural Park. The island’s iconic symbols – El Fraile, La Rana, and of course, Roque Nublo – stand imposingly over a lunar landscape, narrating stories of times past.
SUNSET OVER THE SEA OF CLOUDS
The climax of our journey comes at this point, at the zenith of Gran Canaria you will witness an unparalleled sunset. With views that stretch to Roque Bentayga and even Pico del Teide in Tenerife, it is a visual spectacle that will be etched in your memory.
*PLEASE NOTE: It is strongly recommended to bring a jacket and raincoat if available. If the weather does not permit the hike to Roque Nublo, the guide will modify the itinerary to offer an alternative route with better conditions (Roque Bentayga / Charco de La Paloma).
