Orotava by electric bike – itinerary
Tenerife, with its panoramic views, is undoubtedly one of the best destinations in the world to enjoy descents and trails from 2300 meters down to the sunny Atlantic coast, 365 days a year. During this tour, we will cross the green La Orotava Valley, passing through the historic villages of La Orotava and Los Realejos, rich in history and local traditions.
The route can be adapted to the participants’ skills and level, as we can decide which trail to take to reach the other side of the valley.
Start time: We begin around 9 a.m. from our Ride Base shop, located in front of Playa Jardín (just 500 meters from the famous Loro Parque).
First stop: We’ll start with a ride to Bolullo Beach, which is about 5 km from Puerto de la Cruz.
Climb to Humboldt Observatory: Next, we’ll ascend to the Humboldt Observatory, a stunning viewpoint where you can see the entire La Orotava Valley from the northern side.
Crossing the villages: We’ll pass through the villages of La Orotava and Los Realejos, crossing the valley until we return to the shop in Puerto de la Cruz.
Total distance: The route is 45 km with an 800-meter ascent. Thanks to the assisted pedaling of the e-MTB, the climb won’t be too difficult, and you can choose the level of electric assistance.
Optional lunch: During the tour, it’s possible to stop for lunch at a typical local restaurant (not included) to sample local dishes, or you can bring your own food.
